Shavkat Mirziyoyev: what is known about him

Shavkat Mirziyoyev was born into a simple working-class family. In his youth, he was fond of sports and actively participated in the youth life of the area. Initially, the boy was interested in a medical career, since his father was the head physician. The young man studied at medical school and practiced in local hospitals. However, after thinking about it, Shavkat Mirziyoyev decided to devote life to the Soviet control system.

How politics has developed over the years

Shavkat’s career developed rapidly:

• In 1981 – assumed the position of deputy chairman of the Communist Party of Ukraine committee, and later became the head of the youth association of the Communist Party of Ukraine.
• In 1992 – becoming the head of the local administration of the Mirzo-Ulugbek region. He stayed in Hokkim for 4 years, after which he became the head of the administration of the Samarkand region.
• Winter 2003 – approval of the head of the executive branch of the republic. Subsequently, he was confirmed in the position several more times.
• 2004 – becoming a member of the political council of UzLiDeP. In the fall, he was temporarily entrusted with presidential powers in connection with the death of Karimov.
• December 2016 – elections for the post of head, where the politician received a majority of votes.

After the politician came to power, significant changes took place. During his reign, the development and implementation of a program of comprehensive reforms began, which affected the following systems:

• public administration,
• economics,
• foreign policy.

Reforms that took your career to a new level

Changes have begun in the public administration system aimed at more efficient and open work of government bodies. Measures are being taken to combat corruption and make government more transparent. Economic reforms are aimed at creating a favorable investment environment, stimulating the development of entrepreneurship, and improving the business climate in the state. As part of economic reform, efforts are being intensified to develop the oil, gas and textile sectors. Foreign policy reforms – strengthening foreign economic relations, cooperation with countries in the region. Conditions are being created for expanding export opportunities and developing transport communications.

Social reforms include improving access to education, health care and social security. Programs are being launched to develop agriculture and support families and youth. Relations with neighbors in Central Asia have improved significantly, especially with Uzbekistan, which became the CIS chairman for the first time.

Changes in the country

There have been positive changes within the state: the president introduced direct lines of communication, which allows citizens to communicate directly with the head of state. Freedom of speech and information also appeared. In addition to this, press conferences are held where the government and authorities give answers to public questions. In the fall of 2021, UzLiDeP again supported Mirziyoyev’s candidacy for the post of head of state, confirming his popularity. He is recognized both within his homeland and abroad as an energetic and decisive leader striving for progress and prosperity.
